Thanks to my youngest sister, Trisha, who patiently took my photos. She's stuck with me for the rest of summer. :DD

What I wore: cut-out top from Orange Tag| Shoemixx lace skater skirt| DIY earrings| heels from Asianvogue Shop|

I have been listening to the song "Just Give Me a Reason" for a number of times. It's a beautiful collaboration between the punk-rock singer, Pink and the indie-pop Fun's frontman, Nate Ruess. The whole lyrics is inspirational which tells us that we can still love again despite getting hurt. Giving a second chance doesn't always mean being foolish, that you haven't learned from your mistakes because sometimes, a second chance is just what two people need to make things right. Well, what can we expect from Pink's songs? She writes her own songs and all of them are inspirational. I really love her as she's very talented and has a good attitude. Nate Ruess, aside from being a wonderful singer, is also an advocate for gay rights. Hands down to these two awesome figures! Btw, you should also see its official music video: Pink's outfit and the setting are awesome.

How about you guys, what songs are you up to?

Military Hues

photo BeFunky_G612jpg_zps40fddd26.jpg My style has always been evolving but despite the wardrobe transition, my fondness for edgy pieces has always been the same. My diy and outfit posts can attest that degree of enthusiasm. Having an edgy style has also been a way for me to portray a tough persona. I always wanted to look tough and flash a cunning smile and without dressing up like one, I look more fragile and sensitive than I can actually be.

As much I wanted to look tough, I could never excuse myself for being vulnerable. These past few days hadn't been easier for me, the reason for my short-lived hiatus. I had to rest and take a break from my rut which also includes using my laptop because I wasn't feeling any better. I had fever that wouldn't subside for almost five days, not without medical help. I was confined in the hospital for another four days and I had to keep my heplock at home to complete my 1-week antibiotic treatment. It was only this morning that I had it finally removed. That is the longest time I had needle in my hand as much as I could remember. To those who asked how I'm feeling, I feel great now, recuperating.

photo BeFunky_G4jpg_zps5eaf127f.jpg Other than studs and spikes, military-inspired items are also part of my edgy collection. I just love earthy tones; they aren't boring but are great neutralizers. It's so much fun to play with these colors as you can match them up with bright or dark hues. You can never go wrong by opting military green with leather or soft delicate pieces. Plus, you can get over your style rut as they are ideal for street wear. photo BeFunky_G81jpg_zpscdae97cf.jpg photo BeFunky_G12jpg_zpsc24419fb.jpg The best part about thrift shopping is when you find something that you won't easily find in stores and even if you find one, you won't still buy it because the price isn't reasonable. I bought this denim blazer for less than 150php and that already makes me lucky. photo BeFunky_G10jpg_zps406df120.jpg
photo BeFunky_G91jpg_zps6460543a.jpg photo BeFunky_G51jpg_zps75672eef.jpg I don't usually succumb into fashion trends. For me, it's always wiser to spend money on basics and classics than those on trends that won't last. But of course, there is always an exception like this pair of hidden wedges. They're not only stylish but also comfortable, making wedges suitable for long walks. I have seen a lot of women on fashion blogs and streets sporting these sneakers. I just hope that these shoes won't be one of the things that I have to avoid a few months from now. photo BeFunky_BeFunky_G7jpg_zps7188a331.jpg What I wore: Ann Taylor Loft shirt| Cotton On shorts| thrifted military jacket| S&H wedge sneakers| Photos (c) Adly Velasco

DIY: Zipper Bracelet

Hey guys! Here's a new post on how to make a bracelet with only zippers and studs as our materials. I'm really excited to share my newest DIY as the end result looks so much better than I expected. :DD

This is easy as long as you know how to sew. Just prepare thread, needle and scissors and we're good to go.
 photo BeFunky_DSC00853jpg_zps8a7e23bd.jpg

I was clueless, at first, on how I was going to remove the zipper slider. I couldn't remove it even with force so I just had the edge cut. photo BeFunky_DSC00854jpg_zps10b7488f.jpg

We have now two separate tapes. Place the tapes parallel to each other, with teeth on opposite sides.

Start hand sewing. Sew straight and near the edges so that the stitches won't be too visible.

You could use any embellishments. It's up to you. Pearls would look good too. I used studs for this to sustain the edgy gold and black theme.

If you have studs like mine, you don't need to cut holes. Just pierce the tape using the studs, attach them and use pliers in bending the sharps.   photo BeFunky_DSC00858jpg_zpse5cc4bb6.jpg

Finish it by sewing hooks and eye closures. If you don't have them in gold (just like me :-p), it's fine. People won't see them once you wear the bracelet.

So there! It's so easy that I decided to make two!
photo BeFunky_DSC00862jpg_zpse160a8d6.jpg  Would you say they're diys at first glance? photo BeFunky_DSC00866jpg_zps0006df0c.jpg Thanks for reading! If you have diy suggestions, I'm hyped to hear them out. I'm just a tweet away. Or you can tag me on Instagram: @giancarlatolentino
